6 Practical Tips to Lose Weight Without Exercise

Saturday, 30 May 2026

Isn't it wonderful if you can lose weight without putting in much effort? This is a dream come true for those of us who are lazy or hate exercising. Well, it is possible to lose weight without exercising - provided you have the discipline to change your lifestyle.

Try some of the following tips..

1. Drink more water

When you wake up, drink 2 glasses of water to help activate your internal organs. Water offers many benefits such as helping to remove toxins from your body, regulate body temperature, lower blood pressure, carry nutrients and oxygen to body cells and maintain optimal kidney function. You can add fruit slices like oranges, mint or lemon for extra flavour and nutrients.

Tip: Drink a big glass of plain water 30 minutes before meals to help you feel fuller and reduce food intake.

2. Eat slowly and mindfully

Chewing longer helps suppress hunger and makes you full faster. The liquified food increases the amount of nutrients absorbed by the body and is easier on your digestive process.

Tip: Chew every mouthful at least 20 times before swallowing.

3. More fibre and protein

Protein takes longer to digest and decreases the level of ghrelin (hunger-regulating hormone), making you feel fuller for a longer period. Fibre expands in your gut like a sponge, so it's a natural appetite suppressant

Tip: Drink a Protein-Fibre Shake about 20 minutes before meals, especially if you're planning to take deep-fried or oily food. The fibre forms a layer in your digestive system, and reduces the absorption of fats, sugar and salt, which not only control your weight but also prevent diabetes and constipation problem. Take a look at this video on how to make the shake:

http://www.pingofhealth.com/2020/08/nutritious-tasty-meals-anywhere-anytime.html

4. Cut down on sugar

If you want to lose weight, sugar should be the first thing to go. Be mindful of the "hidden" sugar eg. in your salad dressing, sauces, canned fruits, honey, creamer etc. By eliminating sugar, you lower your risk of heart disease dramatically as it reduces your risk of high blood pressure and diabetes.

Tip: If you like coffee, try CEO Coffee. This healthy coffee uses roasted beans, coconut oil instead of creamer and most importantly, contains Lingzhi. Not only does it taste delicious, it has the bonus of clearing blood vessels and preventing colon cancer. Click on this link for more details:

http://www.pingofhealth.com/2018/09/drinking-delicious-healthy-coffee.html

5. Manage stress levels

When your body is under pressure, it releases the hormone cortisol, which can increase cravings for energy-dense, comfort foods. High cortisol levels over time are also linked to abdominal fat gain.

Tip: Spend 5 minutes mid-morning and in the afternoon to do a few rounds of deep breathing.

6. Get proper sleep

Evidence shows that people who get too little sleep have a higher risk of weight gain than people who get 7 to 8 hours of sleep a night. Sleep deprivation changes your endocrine function and metabolism by affecting your production of hunger-regulating hormones ghrelin and leptin. This can make you feel hungrier than usual, increasing the likelihood of craving for unhealthy snacks.

Tip: Practise good sleep hygiene by sleeping at the same time every day and ensure the room temperature is comfortable.

Constipation is not a Trivial Matter

Saturday, 16 September 2023

You suffer from constipation if you have fewer than 3 bowel movements a week, or are straining and passing dry, hard stools.

Common Causes

1. Bad lifestyle habits: picky eating, frequent consumption of fried food or meat, inadequate fibre intake, insufficient water intake and lack of exercise.

2. Emotions: Stress and tension can affect the nerves that transmit bowel movements, making bowel movements less effective.

3. Age: Studies show that 1 in 3 elders over the age of 60 suffer from constipation, mainly due to a decline in the smooth muscle contraction in the intestines, which makes bowel movements slow and ineffective.

4. Organic constipation: This refers to constipation caused by diseases or abnormalities in the body, such as irritable bowel disease, uterine fibroids, diabetes, autonomic nerve abnormalities or haemorrhoids.

High Risk Groups

- Elderly people.

- Obese people.

- Women (especially pregnant women).

Dietary Fibre for Weight Management, Diabetes and Constipation Problem

Sunday, 6 August 2023

Since young, our mothers always nag us to "Eat more fibre". Do you know why?

This post shares with you the importance of taking sufficient fibre and the grave consequences of fibre deficiency.

Fibre is found mainly in fruits, vegetables, legumes etc. It is actually the roughage or bulk that stays relatively intact throughout our digestive tract because unlike carbo, proteins or fats, it cannot be digested.

These are some tell-tale signals which your body gives you when you're not taking enough fibre:

> Constipation. Even though there are many factors that contribute to constipation, fibre deficiency is one of the major contributor.

> Feeling hungry soon after eating, as fibre gives a feeling of satiety.

> Weight gain. Fibre helps to maintain a healthy weight. If you don't consume enough fibre, you may be at risk of gaining extra kgs.

> Bloating symptoms, as fibre contributes to our gut health.

> Elevated cholesterol, if you don't take enough soluble fibre.

> High blood sugar level.

In Malaysia, the recommended intake is 20-30g of dietary fibre per day. BUT do you know that according to the statistics from the National Health & Morbidity Survey, 95% of Malaysians do not consume enough fibre? One of the consequences is increased risk of colorectal cancer. Other factors which increase the risk of developing colorectal cancer include age (over 50), high-fat diet, being overweight and alcohol & tobacco use. Apart from age, all the others are modifiable factors, i.e. they are lifestyle habits which we can change.

According to WHO, colorectal cancer is the 3rd most common cancer type worldwide, with almost 2 million cases diagnosed in 2020. It's the 2nd most common cause of cancer death, with almost 1 million deaths / year. In Malaysia, colorectal cancer is the leading cancer for males and 2nd leading cancer for females (after breast cancer). Unfortunately despite it being one of the most common cancer, it's usually diagnosed late: up to 73.1% are diagnosed at Stages 3 & 4.

How to prevent colorectal cancer?

> Adequate fibre intake.

> Reduce processed meat.

> Reduce alcohol.

> Maintain weight.

> Be physically active.

Introducing Jia Hor Fibre

Jia Hor Fibre contains water soluble and insoluble dietary fibre, Lingzhi and minerals. Each sachet offers 4g of dietary fibre, enriched with Digestion Resistant Maltodextrin.

(a) Insoluble fibre

This type of fibre doesn't dissolve in water or intestinal fluid and thus helps food to pass through the digestive system and helps bulk up the stools. As such, it's effective to:

> Reduce diverticular disease (small pouches that form in the wall of the colon) risk.

> Reduce colorectal cancer risk.

> Improve satiation as it physically fills up our stomach thereby making us feel full for longer after meals.

> Prevent constipation (defined as having hard and dry stools or less than 3 bowel movements / week). Common causes of constipation are:

- Older adults.

- Pregnant women.

- Low fibre diet.

- Dehydration.

- Certain medication.

(b) Soluble fibre

This type of fibre dissolves in water and intestinal fluid to form a gel-like material and provides these benefits:

> Aids in weight management because the thick and spreadout gel helps to reduce the absorption of fat in our body hence help to maintain a healthy body weight.

> Lowers cholesterol by trapping the bad cholesterol and prevents the body from reabsorbing it.

> Stabilizes blood sugar because it reduces the absorption of carbo or glucose hence reduces glucose spikes after meals.

> By maintaining healthy weight, reducing cholesterol and stablising blood sugar, it helps to reduce cardiovascular risk.

> Being a gel-like material that cannot be digested in the small intestines, it's fermented by the healthy gut bacteria in the colon, thereby feeding them.

(c) Digestion Resistant Maltodextrin

Digestion resistant maltodextrin cannot be digested by the small intestine. It's fermented by gut bacteria in the colon and produces beneficial short-chain fatty acids like butyrate. Hence it's health enhancing.

The benefits of Resistant Maltodextrin include:

> Enhances gut health.

> Increases satiation and reduces food intake.

> Reduces fat absorption.

> Maintains healthy blood sugar level and doesn't cause blood sugar spikes after consumption.

Note: Digestible maltodextrin increases the risk of obesity, diabetes and other health issues as it has high GI value and causes blood sugar spikes after consumption.

Benefits of Jia Hor Fibre

1. Improves gastrointestinal health

Promotes regular bowel movements & reduces accumulation of toxins in the intestinal tract ~ reduces the risk of colorectal cancer.

2. Aids in blood glucose control

Improves blood glucose metabolism & reduces glucose spike after meals ~ helps control blood sugar and prevents complications of diabetes.

3. Lowers serum cholesterol

Water soluble fibre helps absorb cholesterol deposits in the blood vessels ~ reduces LDL cholesterol and risk of arteries hardening.

4. Maintains healthy gut microbiome

Adequate dietary fibre (20-30g) encourages the proliferation of beneficial bacteria and reduce harmful bacteria ~ preserves the vitality of intestinal tract.

5. Maintains healthy bodyweight

Provides sense of fullness ~ ideal for controlling weight.

How to Consume?

> Recommended usage: 3-4 sachets daily.

> Mix with 300ml of warm water, fruit juices, milk or other drinks.

Immune, Nervous and Circulatory Systems Diseases: Application of SH Products

Sunday, 5 December 2021

This article talks about the application of Shuang Hor products in addressing different kinds of diseases related to 3 main systems in our body - Immune system, Nervous system and Circulatory system.

1. Immune System
- allergy, cancer, SLE, AIDs

(a) Immune-Regulatory Effect

Lingzhi has the ability to suppress over-active immune cells (which refers to T and B cells). The T and B cells start to act irregularly when the body is constantly under a lot of stress. They may randomly attack your platelets or blood vessels (causing stroke).

There's no medicine to treat auto-immune problems completely. Doctors can only control using steroid. No doubt steroids can suppress immunity, but there are a lot of side effects. And if the level of T and B cells are constantly low, it increases the risk of cancer.

Our body's most powerful anti-cancer cells are NKC and phagocytes. They patrol our body and swallow the cancer cells.

Young people have thousands of cancer cells in their body. These cells are unable to form into tumour because they are eaten by the NKC and phagocytes, which are active and functioning well. Those who succumb to cancer have low levels of NKC and phagocytes.

Some symptoms of poor immunity and thus face higher risks of cancer:
- White spots on the tongue or lining of mouth.
- Mouth ulcers that will not heal.
- Hardly have fever.

Old people have tens of thousands of cancer cells. One of the ways the body protects itself is to group all cancer cells together to form a tumour.
If size of tumour is less than 1 cm, it is undetectable.
If size of tumour is 3-4 cm, it can be detected. By then, it may be at stage 3, especially for colon cancer.

How Lingzhi works

For auto-immunity problems, Lingzhi suppresses the activity of T and B cells. At the same time, it boosts up the activity of NKC and phagocytes. YK2 works more effectively for those with auto-immune problem due to the higher content of triterpenoids.

Take at least 20 YK1 or 3 YK2 within an hour to suppress the activity of T cells.
If the auto-immunity problem is very severe, take the said dose 3-4 times / day.

(b) Anti-tumour Activity

Our WBC count start to deteriorate as we grow older. There is no medicine in the market that can boost up WBC. However, YK1 has the certification that it can do so.

Click on this link for more info on the types of certifications YK1 has been accredited with:
http://www.pingofhealth.com/2011/11/accreditation-and-endorsements-for.html

YK1 has the ability to activate the vitality of WBC and that's how it achieves anti-tumour ability. When the WBC kill the enemies (by engulfing and swallowing them), they also die at the same time. If you have sufficient and strong WBC, they can quickly eliminate the pathogens.

This explains why some people feel feverish after taking Lingzhi. People who don't get fever could mean their WBC are not working. Because one way to destroy the virus is by increasing the body temperature. Hence fever is a good sign as it means that the body is fighting against the invaders. Such people recover quickly from their illnesses. Relying on panadols and aspirins are not good solutions in the long-term because the WBC would forget how to work.

How to take Lingzhi

Stage 4 cancer = 2 boxes YK2/day for a higher chance of survival + 10-20 sachets Pollen + JH Soya (for patients who have no appetite or cannot eat).
Stage 3 cancer = 1-2 boxes YK2/day. Take for 3-4 months, many a times the cancer cells will disappear.
Stage 2 cancer = 1 box YK2 or 10 capsules YK2 + 10 capsules YK1 (budget constraint).

A suggested ratio is 1 YK2 to match with 1 sachet YK Pollen.

(c) Reduce Side Effects of Chemo

Experienced doctors will examine a patient to check if they are strong enough to undergo chemo. Patients feel very low in energy after chemo. There are many things they cannot eat.

Chemo patients and those who are exposed to a lot of radiation (e.g. using handphones excessively) should take more YK Pollen, as it has anti-radiation properties. A lot of cancer are caused by radiation, which creates free radicals in the body, which attack the stability of our body cells and cause massive cells death. YK Pollen can protect the cells from the attacks of free radicals.

2. Nervous System
- migraine, epilepsy, sleep disorder, Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer

Such diseases are closely related to the brain. Our cells are in one of these 4 stages - healthy, dead, sick and ageing. Our body has a mechanism called Apoptosis. If this apoptosis process is working well, it has the ability to eliminate the cancerous, abnormal cells and regenerate new good cells. If we abuse our body through unhealthy lifestyle, sleeping late and having a lot of stress, this apoptosis mechanism will malfunction and kill its own good cells, including brain cells.

As the brain controls the nervous system, when we lose a lot of brain cells, we also start to lose control of our bodily functions. Some problems include memory loss, stiffness of joints, loss of speech and movement, endometriosis (the body does not eliminate the abnormal cells growing outside the uterus wall when apoptosis mechanism malfunctions) and PCOS.

How Lingzhi works

Lingzhi can maintain the balance and homeostasis of the apoptosis. Lingzhi can prevent the occurrence of diseases.

(a) Lingzhi has calming and relaxing effect on nervous system
When the body is in a calm and relaxed state, the apoptosis function would be more normal.

(b) Improve the condition of Alzheimer disease
There's no drug to treat this disease at the moment. They can only relieve the symptoms.

Other SH products that are able to protect the nervous system:

(i) JH Soya because it contains Lecithin, which is food for the brain and it can clean up our arteries. It is a source of high quality protein.

(ii) YK Pollen also has great benefits for our brain cells because it's very dense in nutrients.

(iii) JH Calcium is important for the nervous system to perform properly.

If we have sufficient fluid in our spine to cushion the central nervous system and sufficient calcium, we won't have uneasiness or pain when we move. Vitamin D3 is required to ensure that the body is able to absorb the calcium intake. Sunlight is a good source of vitamin D3.

Many people are under the mistaken belief that by taking cow's milk, they will have sufficient calcium. On the contrary, too much cow's milk may drain out calcium from the bones (because it's acidic in nature). People who are stressed, lack sleep and meat eaters have acidic body constitution (symptoms include fatigue and dry mouth) and they tend to lose more calcium. The reason is because the body neutralises the acidity in the blood by drawing out calcium (as it is alkaline) from our bones, leading to osteoporosis in the long-run.

Hyperthyroidism can also cause blood calcium level to rise and osteoporosis. The parathyroid hormone regulates level of calcium in the blood, by increasing the levels when they are too low. Hyperparathyroidism can cause excess calcium in the body.

An adult needs about 1,000-1,200 mg of calcium/day, equivalent to about 2-4 tablets of JH Calcium per day. Take together with YK Pollen as it has vitamin D which helps with absorption of calcium. Further, pollen is essential to help us achieve a good hormone system because it's rich in many nutrients required.

3. Circulatory System
- HBP, LBP, stroke, cardiac infarction (heart attack), arteriosclerosis (thickening and hardening of walls of artery)

Lingzhi has the ability to clear blockages, as well as regulate HBP and LBP. Some people found that 2 capsules Lingzhi + CEO Coffee work wonderfully on these circulatory problems.

Circulatory problems can also be caused by auto-immunity problem. The malfunctioning macrophage immune cells can trigger the over-growth of endothelial cells, leading to blockages of arteries.

Click on this link for a more detailed explanation..
https://pingofhealthexclusive.blogspot.com/2016/09/authorised-2016-q-session-with-dr-chen.html

There's no medicine that can treat this problem. Hence even vegetarians or people who eat healthily can also get blockages, if they have auto-immune system problem. However, Lingzhi has the ability to regulate the immunity such that this condition will not happen.

The Lecithin in JH Soya can clear the clots that block the arteries.

The Maltodextrin in JH Fiber can reduce the levels of cholesterol, fats and triglycerides in the blood and maintain healthy blood glucose level.

The Ribose in Vitaking can replenish the ATP energy so the liver is not burdened to over produce cholesterol (to produce energy).
The Lemon Verbena in Vitaking has anti-inflammatory effect which can address the inflammation of the arteries. Doctors usually prescribe steroids to reduce inflammation, but there are many side effects. Take 4-6 Vitaking / day can help reduce severe inflammation. Elderly people who are feeling very weak can safely take up to 6-8 Vitaking / day (for several days) to help them quickly recover their energy.

Conclusion

In summary, SH products are able to manage the diseases when you already have them. But if you don't have them, SH products can prevent them from happening.

It is important to know how to use SH products because they really have therapeutic effects. Understand how they work so you will dare to take at the correct dosage.

Uniqueness of Jia Hor Soya Protein and Jia Hor Fiber

Sunday, 7 February 2021

Protein and fiber are 2 of the key nutrients our body needs on a daily basis.
On average, for every kilo of our body weight, we need to consume 1 gram of quality protein.
As for fiber, we need to take an average of 25 apples or 1 kilo of leafy veges a day to meet our daily requirement.
If you're like me, it's a tall order. So, for over 10 years, I have relied on these 2 supplements - Jia Hor Soya Protein powder and Jia Hor Fiber.

Jia Hor Soya Protein

What is so unique about Jia Hor Soya Protein is because it is an isolated protein powder.
The skin of soya beans contains purine (which is one of the main culprit for causing gout pain), as well as fats and cholesterol. Jia Hor Soya Protein does not contain purine because it has gone through an isolation process and already been converted to amino acid. Thus the human body cells can easily absorb and utilise.

In fact, Jia Hor Soya Protein has also been added with papaya and pineapple enzyme, which further help with absorption; up to 95% of the protein consumed. This is important because many of the protein products in the market are still in big molecule structure whereby your body must have the ability to breakdown and digest. If your body is not functioning at tip top condition, whatever protein you consume may cause more burden to your kidney.

People who want to go on diet or don't have good appetite can take 4-6 sachets Jia Hor Soya Protein a day as their meal replacement as it contains high quality raw materials for their body to use.

Many people who suffer from kidney problem are prevented by doctors from taking high protein food; for example, people who suffer from gout, diabetes or undergoing dialysis. But protein is a very important ingredient for all our cells. About 30% of our whole body structure is made from protein. Where are they going to take their source of protein?

Jia Hor Soya Protein is also excellent for people with gastric caused by taking a lot of painkillers. Drink the protein shake mixed with warm water. The bubbles from the shake help form a layer of protective membrane to protect the stomach lining and repair the damaged lining. It is advisable to use warm water as it works better to reduce the stomach acids from attacking the lining.

Some soya protein are very cheap, selling at perhaps RM20 for 1 kg. However, these kind of products are likely in the form of whole soya beans that are grounded into powder, perhaps only removing the skin. Thus, they are Not in readily-absorbable amino acid form, unlike Jia Hor Soya Protein. This explains for the price difference. Vegetarians in particular are very concerned about quality as they mainly rely on such form of soya protein to get their essential amino acids.

Jia Hor Fiber

Many fiber products in the market share a similar feature - they are added with an ingredient called senna. It's a kind of laxative, because many people take fiber supplements for constipation problem and want to see quick results. To meet the demands of these people, senna is added.

That explains why after taking these types of fiber products, people experience diarrhoea. Senna is used to stimulate the peristalsis movement of intestines to create purging. One of the disadvantages of this method is the diarrhoea can become uncontrollable and disturb the balance of electrolytes in the body. We also lose a lot of mineral contents in the body and experience dehydration.

In medical reports, the reading of electrolytes appear in the section for kidney. If you have been experiencing diarrhoea often, these readings will not be good.

This is not how Jia Hor Fiber works. You won't experience watery stools like diarrhoea. Instead, it provides you with sufficient amount of fiber (whose original function is to act like a broom) in your colon, and your bowels will move naturally as the fiber sweeps the wastes out.

On average, we need about 25-30g of fiber a day. A sachet of Jia Hor Fiber contains a net weight of 4g fiber. Thus for a person who hardly consumes fiber products, it is advisable to supplement with 3-6 sachets a day.

Some doctors advise patients not to consume too much fiber because it will affect the absorption of minerals especially calcium. However, Jia Hor Fiber is different. It is added with a soluble dietary fiber called Digestion Resistant Maltodextrin.  Apart from regulating bowel movement, it is able to maintain healthy blood glucose level, and reduce cholesterol and triglycerides level. It also does not affect the absorption of calcium.

For people with a 3-Highs condition, it is best that they can add Jia Hor Fiber into their diet. For diabetics who cannot control their diet, their blood sugar reading can be maintained much better if they also consume Jia Hor Fiber. They do not have to take so much medication.

A little tip: using hairdryer to blow at the sole of the feet is found to be helpful for people with weak kidneys and weak limbs.

5 Tips to Take Care of Gut Health

Sunday, 29 December 2019

I came across an article which I find to be a helpful reminder on taking care of a very important system in our body, which is our digestive system. The authors are with the Malaysian Dietitians' Association.

Hippocrates, the father of modern medicine, says ~ All diseases begin in the gut.

The gut is the largest immune organ in our body and forms up to 80% of our body's defences against illnesses. The intestines are home to immune "sensors" called Peyer's patches, which play a key role in identifying harmful pathogens in our gut and triggering our body's immune response against them. Good gut health can be maintained when the balance of microorganisms living in our digestive system is about 85% good probiotics to 15% bad bacteria.

Reasons for uncontrolled increase in the number of bad bacteria:
  • medication
  • chemicals / toxins in the surroundings
  • sudden dietary changes
  • excessive alcohol consumption
  • high levels of stress.
Symptoms vary in intensity and include:
  • bad breath
  • upset stomach
  • constipation / diarrhoea
  • stomach bloating.
5 Tips on how to take care of the health of your digestive system

1) Practise balance, moderation and variety (BMV) in daily diet

Balance - include foods from all 5 food groups in the Malaysian Food Pyramid.
Moderation - portions are served in accordance with the recommended number of servings per food group.
Variety - comprise a variety of foods from each food group.

2) Include foods rich in fiber and probiotics

The importance of dietary fibre cannot be overstated. Non-digestible dietary fiber helps regulate bowel movement and gives the correct consistency and bulk to stools.
Good sources for dietary fibre - legumes, whole grains, vegetables, fruits.

If you are unable to take about 1kg of green leafy vege a day, supplement with Jia Hor Fiber. Click here to find out the 4 special benefits of Jia Hor Fiber..

Certain dietary fibres are a source of prebiotics, which serve as food for the gut bacteria.
Prebiotic-rich foods - garlic, onion, asparagus, bananas, as well as fruit-oligosaccharides and inulin.

To supplement your prebiotic intake, take Lactoberry probiotics as it contains composite oligosaccharides. Click on this link for more details..
http://www.pingofhealth.com/2012/02/choose-your-probiotics-wisely-4.html

3) Consume probiotic-rich foods

Taking food which contain good probiotics help you maintain a healthy gut microbiota balance, and improve gastrointestinal disorders like IBS, diarrhoea and constipation, as well as enhance immunity.
Probiotic-rich foods - cultured milk, tapai, homemade yoghurt, tempeh and kimchi.

To me, Lactoberry is my best source of probiotic because I can take it anywhere with me even when I travel and the benefits are excellent. Click here to check out the long list of benefits..
http://www.pingofhealth.com/2011/10/uniqueness-of-lacto-berry-probiotics.html

4) Drink plenty of water

Sufficient fluids are needed to aid in food digestion. Water is also important to prevent constipation because fiber pulls water into the colon to create softer and bulkier stools, allowing them to pass through more easily.

5) Be active

Your gut will function optimally when you lead a physically active lifestyle and maintain a healthy body weight. In turn, this practice will have a positive impact on your overall health.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome and Dyspepsia

Thursday, 17 December 2015

The pain and discomfort suffered by people with gastrointestinal disorders can sometimes be unbearable. It is therefore important to act promptly to address these conditions and alleviate the physical and emotional distress.

Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS)

IBS is not a disease. It is a group of symptoms that occur together and is characterised by lower abdominal pain or discomfort. It occurs once per week for at least 2 months without other disease or lesions that could explain the pain.

The pain or discomfort usually:
  • Starts with irregular bowel movements, either diarrhoea or constipation.
  • Stools appear looser and more watery or harder and more lumpy than usual.
  • Improves with a bowel movement in the case of constipation.
The Causes of IBS include:
  • gastrointestinal system being too sensitive to certain foods
  • mental health problems (psychological factors)
  • stomach flu
  • family history.
There is no cure for IBS. How to treat the symptoms?
  • Dietary changes like eating smaller meals more often, eating meals low in fat, avoid caffeinated drinks and gaseous foods (e.g. beans and cabbage).
  • Increase dietary fibre (e.g. whole grains, cereal and vegetables).
  • Medication to alleviate certain symptoms of IBS e.g. fiber supplements, laxatives, anti-diarrhoeal drugs and antispasmodics.
  • Replenish gut microflora with a combination of live bacteria or probiotics.
  • Psychological relaxation techniques.
Functional Dyspepsia (FD)

FD is defined as a persistent upper abdominal pain or discomfort associated with these Symptoms:
  • early satiety
  • fullness
  • bloating
  • belching
  • nausea
  • epigastric/abdominal pain
  • reflux symptoms like heartburn and regurgitation.
It's not related to bowel movements. It's present for at least 2 months prior to diagnosis.
They mostly occur after or during a meal.

The specific Causes of FD are largely unknown but may include:
  • genetics
  • psychological factors (abuse, trauma)
  • changes in gut function
  • hypersensitivity of the gut.
There is no treatment for FD, only symptom management to provide relief, including:
  • Dietary modifications such as consuming properly portioned, smaller meals with reduced fat, spice and caffeine intake.
  • Antibiotic treatment if dyspepsia is caused by H.Pylori bacteria.
  • Use of antacids to reduce the amount of acid produced in the stomach.
  • Use of prokinetic agents that help control acid reflux by emptying stomach content faster.
  • Psychological relaxation techniques.
Many symptoms of IBS and FD are quite similar. Just having a regular episode of constipation or diarrhoea does not mean you have IBS or FD. The main type of management for IBD and FD is usually lifestyle changes, such as avoiding problematic foods and learning to adapt to stress or anxiety. IBS and FD are not infectious. They do not threaten your life, but does affect the way you live.

Sunday, 13 September 2015

Please email askfuiping@gmail.com if you want to buy Jia Hor Fiber and Lactoberry to manage your digestive health.

This post is part of a weekly series sharing Bits of mishmash on health, my business and life in general, which I find inspirational, enlightening or enriching.
And Bites of delicious food I have enjoyed.

Tuaran Mee

As you grow older, your gastrointestinal tract also age. It's ability to absorb nutrients and capability to eliminate toxins will drop. As such, there will be a build-up of toxins and your body's immune functions will be reduced. You may suffer from more constipation or diarrhoea problems and be at an increased risk of colon cancer. Toxins may permeate into your bloodstream and cause increased burden on your liver and kidneys.

-------------------------------------------

How do you take care of your digestive system?
If you don't take sufficient veggie everyday, you need to supplement your daily needs with high quality dietary fibre. A good source of fibre should ideally contain both soluble and insoluble fibre because:

1) Soluble Fibre
  • Curb the abrupt elevation of blood sugar - good for diabetics.
  • Discourage the absorption of cholesterol and fat - manage weight and prevent cancer.
  • Source: fruits, veggie, legumes and oats.
2) Insoluble Fibre
  • Encourage the proliferation of friendly bacteria - prevent constipation.
  • Add bulk to stools by retaining water - prevent diarrhea.
  • Source: whole grain oats, wheat, seeds, nuts, fruits and veggie.
--------------------------------------------

What are the Benefits of Jia Hor Fiber?
  • Helpful in controlling blood sugar, triglycerides and cholesterol.
  • Modulate gastrointestinal functions.
  • Regulate bowel movements.
  • Prevent degenerative diseases.
  • Lower in caloric content.
  • Maintain ideal body weight.
----------------------------------------------

At the same time, you must ensure that your digestive system has at least 85% good bacteria for optimal health, because a healthy digestive tract is responsible for 80% of the immune system.
How to make sure the friendly bacteria are effective?
  • They must be alive.
  • They must be capable of multiplying.
  • They must be heat and acid resistant.
------------------------------------------------

A quality source of friendly bacteria (probiotics) is Shuang Hor Lactoberry.
What are the Benefits of Lactoberry?
  • Regulate ecological harmony of friendly bacteria.
  • Improve condition of lactose intolerance.
  • Relieve allergies such as respiratory and skin allergies.
  • Promote vitamin synthesis.
  • Promote production of enzymes.
  • Prevent degenerative diseases.
  • Enhance nutrients absorption.

Diabetes: 4 Safe and Effective Prevention Solutions

Wednesday, 8 July 2015

Email askfuiping@gmail.com to purchase Shuang Hor products to address your diabetic condition.

Diabetes is a condition that is becoming so common nowadays that most of us know what it is and most of us know of some friends or loved ones who are suffering from it.

Conventional western medication only provide a Treatment solution. Meaning if you have not been diagnosed as a diabetic, you can't take an insulin jab to prevent diabetes. So there's nothing much you can do to to prevent diabetes, apart from changing your lifestyle - exercise, control your weight, be careful with food and manage your stress. Unfortunately, these are theories that most of us know but are unable or unwilling to make the changes for.

I now present to you 4 Prevention Solutions - something that is safe to consume, has no side effects and can effectively prevent or delay the onset of this degenerative disease.

The best way to manage a diabetic or pre-diabetic condition is to maintain the function of your pancreas and balance your blood glucose. These are the 4 products that can help.

1. Yung Kien Ganoderma

(a) Lingzhi helps to protect and prolong the lifespan of your beta cells (the cells that create the insulin). As long as your beta cells are still alive (meaning your insulin-producing factory can still work) your body will naturally help to balance the blood glucose level.

(b) Lingzhi also removes free radicals. Our cells create a lot of free radicals, which will damage the beta cells. We need to remove these free radicals. Lingzhi is a very powerful anti-oxidant to help do that.

(c) Lingzhi also enhances your liver function (detoxification). Lingzhi helps to detoxify all the toxins in your body and help to modulate your glucose level.

(d) Western medication is very good at controlling your fasting blood glucose level. But it is not really effective to control blood glucose level after food. Lingzhi has the ability to modulate your post-prandial blood glucose level.

Testimony:
A 70+ year old man has been a diabetic patient for more than 20 years. His blood glucose level will shoot up to 14 mmol/L when he takes durian. However, when he takes Lingzhi together with durian, it can effectively control his blood glucose level at 7 mmol/L.

(e) Lingzhi helps to cleanse your blood and increase mobility of your blood flow. People with high blood sugar will have very thick blood (like syrup) which is very sluggish. Lingzhi can help to cleanse your blood and increase its mobility.

Testimony:
A 40+ year old man found out he has Type 1 diabetes 3 years ago. He had numbness in his hands and feet. He couldn't sleep well because when he lie down he felt he couldn't breath. After taking only 1 bottle of Yung Kien Ganoderma, the numbness was gone (he had better sense of feel) and he could sleep much better as he doesn't feel that tightness anymore.

(f) Lingzhi helps to protect body organs (including kidney and liver) from the side effects of medication. Patients with Type 1 diabetes have to rely on insulin because their body don't produce insulin at all.

(g) Linghzi also helps fortify the immune defence so you don't fall sick so often.

Dosage: 8-12 capsules a day.

2. Yung Kien Pollen

This a complete healthfood with a whole spectrum of nutrients, containing over 200 types of vitamins, minerals and enzymes inside. Certain vitamins like vitamins C, E and K and minerals like chromium do a few functions. They (1) help the pancreas to produce more insulin, (2) reduce the insulin resistance in the cells and (3) help insulin to work more effectively.

Yung Kien Pollen has all the vitamins and minerals that your body needs. You don't know exactly how much your body needs. So taking pollen is like giving your body a buffet and different parts of your organs will take whatever they need so that they can work more effectively.

Pollen increases the energy level. Diabetic patients tend to get tired very easily. Pollen is very good to increase the stamina level.

Dosage: 2-3 sachets a day.

3. Jia Hor Fiber

(a) Jia Hor Fiber contains both soluble and insoluble fiber, hence it's effective to help absorb excess sugar, fats and salt that's in your food, which in turn effectively maintains a healthy blood glucose level. You should take enough fiber so that it helps to hold on to the sugar and slowly release it into your bloodstream instead of immediately jacking up your blood sugar level.

(b) It also eases bowel movement to help toxin elimination.

(c) It's very good to help you maintain ideal weight because it gives you a sense of fullness so you won't over-eat.

If you're suffering from diabetes in a country like Malaysia where food is in abundance, it's really very difficult. When you eat in restaurants with friends, you can probably order only 2 plates of vege and have to watch your friends feast on delicious meat and seafood. But if you were to take 2 sachets Jia Hor Fiber about half to one hour before you go out, you can enjoy more food, knowing that there's enough fiber inside to hold on to the fats and sugars and slowly release them into your bloodstream, so that your blood glucose level doesn't suddenly shoot up too high.

Dosage: 2-3 sachets a day.

4. Lactoberry Probiotics

(a) Lactoberry aids proper digestion of food. Most people with diabetes suffer from metabolic syndrome. Most of the time their digestion is not so good.

(b) Lactoberry also helps to prevent constipation. Research has shown that probiotics help to reduce insulin resistance which means it help your cells to use the insulin more effectively.

Dosage: 2-3 sachets a day.

Testimony

Take a look at this testimony of a 39 year old man with Type 1 diabetes and how Shuang Hor products have helped him. Click on the link below:

Conclusion

Diabetes is preventable and manageable, through dietary control and changes in your lifestyle. The function of the 4 healthfood mentioned above is to help support your health from the ravages of diabetes.

As diabetes progress, the quality of life deteriorates a lot.  Our healthfood can help to reduce the side effects of medication, and also help reduce the intake of medication. Most importantly, it can give you a better quality of life. For example, if your family has a history of diabetes, then you're genetically predisposed to it. When you take these healthfood, you can delay the onset of diabetes and give yourself a better quality of life.

Bits & Bites #55 - Testimonies: Runny Nose, Easily Fall Sick and Losing Weight

Sunday, 27 July 2014

Please email askfuiping@gmail.com if you are looking at alternative ways to recover from flu or want to lose weight.

This post is part of a weekly series sharing Bits of mishmash on health, my business and life in general, which I find inspirational, enlightening or enriching.
And Bites of delicious food I have enjoyed.

Ganggang Sullae

Testimony: Fastest Way to Recover from Runny Nose

I was in Korea for holidays. The winter weather was extremely cold. The temperature was below freezing. I came back sick with a bad runny nose. My nose was dripping uncontrollably the whole day and I had to wipe it non-stop. My dustbin was filled up with so many tissue papers.
I took 4 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma + 8 capsules Yung Kien Pollen each time, 3 times a day. I drank a lot of water and rested a lot.
After 3 days of such dosage, when I woke up on Day 4, my nose had suddenly stopped dripping. It was completely clear. I am very happy that my recovery time is so short and it happened so quickly.

---------------------------------------

Testimony: Body Ache and Flu Symptoms

Ms L was sick recently - her lips were swollen and she had sore throat, fever, headache and joint pain.
Dosage:
Boil 10 sachets Luchun Lingzhi Tea and drink it continuously the whole day.
Dissolve 6-8 sachets Lactoberry probiotics in 500 ml water and finish it immediately.
Consume 6 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma + 6-8 sachets Jia Hor Instant Soya Protein Powder daily.
Results:
She recovered after 4-5 days. She had more frequent bowel movements of 2-3 times a day. The color of her swollen lips started to lighten as she got better.
Because of consuming higher dosage of Jia Hor Soya Protein, the bonus is her skin texture looks better too.

--------------------------------------

Testimony: Easily Fall Sick

Ms T's brother used to fall sick easily, his nose was regularly blocked (where he can only breath through one side) and he would feel dizzy if he stands up too quickly.
Dosage:
He drinks 2 sachets Luchun Lingzhi Tea daily.
Results:
After 6 months, he noticed that he doesn't fall sick so easily since, his nose is not as blocked up as before and his blood circulation is better as he no longer feels dizzy when he stands up suddenly.

---------------------------------------

Testimony: No Appetite and Very Thin

A lady in her 60s weighs only 39 kg. She's extremely thin as she has no appetite to eat.
She drank a shake of 2 sachets Jia Hor Soya Protein + 1 sachet Jia Hor Fiber with lots of water daily.
After almost 14 days, she observed that she has much better appetite and good energy level. The enzymes help her body to absorb more food.

----------------------------------------

Testimony: How to Lose Weight

A lady consumed a health shake comprising a combination of 2 sachets Jia Hor Soya Protein + 1 sachet Jia Hor Fiber + 1 sachet Yung Kien Pollen with the objective of losing weight. After only a short few weeks, she slimmed down considerably. Her brother commented that her arms looked firmer, and her school friend said that her tummy looked smaller and her thighs slimmer. The best news was the monk at her weekly place of prayer could not recognise her due to her transformation. She said her mother was very happy when she heard that wonderful news.
