10 Daily Habits That Hold You Back From Success

There is no such thing as overnight success. The things you do everyday bring you to where you are - be it success or failure. Take a look at these 10 habits and reflect if you are guilty of any of them. You must change as these are the habits that hold you back from success.

1) Morning routine is non-existent
Having a morning routine energises you and makes you feel good. You start the day right. Select something that resonates with you - meditation, exercise, prayer, reading for 20 minutes etc.

2) You forget your strengths when difficulty or challenges happen
You can't handle crisis; you're emotionally not strong.
For example, if your car cannot start or your appointment doesn't go as planned, you lost confidence in yourself. Acknowledge your strengths and remember them in times of challenges. Then you will be able to pull yourself out of your down time more quickly.

3) You major in minor things
You get distracted easily if you don't have goals and clear directions. What are the 3 most important things you want to do this month? Having goals help you to be more focused. For example, if you want to lose weight, you have to allocate time to do it.

4) Let energy vampire consume you
You spend too much time on energy wasting activities like Facebook, group chats, emails etc. You can spend some time to update yourself through these channels but put a cap on it.

5) You work on tasks that can be delegated to someone else
Define your priority and what you want to achieve. After 1 year, what kind of person do you want to be? When you have a goal, ever day you will do something to achieve that goal. You will be more productive. Do not waste time on tasks that don't contribute to your goals; delegate to others.

6) Spend too much time recovering from setbacks
When you have setbacks, how much time do you take to recover? When you are mentally prepared, you will take a shorter time to bounce back and get back to doing what you should do. When something bad happens to you, focus on the solution, on what you can do. If there is really nothing you can do, then surrender and accept it. It is meant to be. Then you can move forward.

7) Procrastinate
Fear of failure often cause people to put off doing something. Find out why you procrastinate. Force yourself to take action. Sometimes the first step is the hardest. If you need help, form a support group to encourage you.

8) Avoid difficult conversations
We often avoid situations that challenge us for example talking to someone that is difficult. But that could be a major opportunity. It may not be as tough as you fear. If you push yourself to do it, you surrender to the fear and you will grow.

9) You don't or hardly say Thank You
People who don't say thank you are not grateful people or they are egoistic or arrogant inside. The universal force work together to make you successful; your success is not solely your own effort. The more you say thank you and be humble, the more the universe will give you back. Take time to be grateful.

10) You forget that your inner life determines your outer success
The good life we have sometimes has little to do with our outer success. We are happy and fulfilled by who we are on the inside. Our internal lives contribute largely to producing many of our external circumstances. Our outer world is a reflection of our inner world. When you change your inside, be grateful, be more forgiving, don't find fault in people, don't complain so much etc, you start to attract the right people into your life. So working on inner self is more important than anything if you want to have a happier and successful life.

Do the right things. Then do the things right. Keep working on yourself. You will change for the better. Then you will get what you want.

Everyone who gives you a hard time is an opportunity for you to grow. Don't beat yourself up or be a victim when faced with challenges. All of us encounter challenges in life. You are the only one who can help yourself.
