Bits & Bites #215 - Testimonies: Hip Fracture, Sprained Ankle, Muscle Pain and Toothache

Email askfuiping@gmail.com if you are looking for a safe solution to solve your various health problems.

Kiwanis HGH
Testimony: Hip Fracture

Ms A's mother-in-law had a fall end Oct 2017, when she was 79 years old. She has been taking high blood pressure and high cholesterol medication for a long time. During the day she was not feeling so well, and had a bit of giddiness. That night, she miss-stepped, fell backward and hit her head on the floor. The family took her for an x-ray and the orthopedic said she had a hairline fracture on the left side of her pelvic bone and a little swell on her head. There was no concussion even though she felt a lot of pain.

As it was at night, there was nothing much the doctor could do. She was only given painkiller. As she had been on long-term high blood pressure medication, her blood pressure shot up during the incident to 180 over 100. The doctor gave her some injection to control the blood pressure. Fortunately, she was able to be discharged to rest at home on the night of the incident.

She couldn't walk and stand, and was in a lot of pain. The painkiller in fact was not enough to give her the relief. For the first week, she was fed 1 capsule Yung Kien Ganoderma2 + 4 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma + 2 sachets Vitaking each time, twice a day. She took this dose for one week. She couldn't take her bath and couldn't sleep well.
Healing reaction: indigestion, heartburn, diarrhoea and felt very tired (but couldn't sleep). Her frequent trips to the toilet is good as it helps flush the inflammation out of her body.

On week 2, she reduced the dose to 3 YK1 + 1 Vitaking (whereby the YK is diluted in Vitaking as she had difficulty swallowing capsules) + 3 Lactoberry + Jia Hor Calcium each time, twice a day.
She still had similar healing reactions but the severity was reduced. She could sleep longer at night and the pain was more bearable.

On week 3, she adjusted the dosage further to 1 YK1 once a day and 1 Vitaking + 3 Lactoberry + 1 sachet Yung Kien Pollen + 2 capsules Jia Hor Calcium each time, twice a day.
Healing reaction: a lot of phlegm. She could walk with a cane and the pain was much more bearable.

On week 4, she was able to stand longer.

The orthopedic said she would need 100 days to recover from the hairline fracture. But her healing was very fast. She recovered within 2 months. By Christmas, she was able to stand, cook, bathe and do the normal activities. She was very happy that the discomfort was only for a short period of time. The Shuang Hor products not only managed her physical pain, but also helped her emotionally in that it gave her hope that she would be able to get better and walk normally again.

Her maintenance dosage is 1 capsule Jia Hor Lingzhi + 1 sachet Yung Kien Pollen + 1 Vitaking and + 2 Jia Hor Calcium a day.

---------------------------------

Testimony: Sprained Ankle

One Sunday afternoon, I was in the gym doing an aerobics class called Body Step. It involves stepping up and down a board. I missed a step, tripped, lost my balance and fell. I sprained my right ankle. I immediately felt a sharp pain but I decided to finish the workout. The pain seemed to subside so I bravely went to do grocery shopping. I was limping a little but could still walk.
When I got home the pain felt a little worse so I took 1 sachet Vitaking mixed in warm water. The sprained area felt a bit warm and swollen but still not too bad. But about an hour after dinner, the pain got so bad that I couldn't put any weight on it. I could barely move. I had to walk on my toes as it puts less pressure on the ankle.  It was horribly painful. I hobbled to the kitchen, holding onto the stairs and wall, to take another sachet of Vitaking + 6 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma + 8 capsules Yung Kien Pollen. Then I went to shower and slept early.
The next morning, when I woke up, the pain was still there but had subsided substantially. I took another sachet Vitaking + 4 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma + 8 capsules Yung Kien Pollen. Towards later part of the morning, the pain had reduced so much that I could go to Midvalley to do my banking and then met my friend for coffee.

-----------------------------------------

Testimony: Muscle Pain

One day, Mr P's uncle suddenly could not walk. The muscles on his thigh above the knee was suddenly very painful. He could not support his weight and fell down. Mr P brought him to Assunta Hospital for checkup and x-ray. The doctor removed the fluid from his joint. But the pain was still there. The doctor gave him analgesics. It was still painful after taking the painkiller. Mr P suggested that he takes 4 sachets Vitaking mixed in warm water each time, twice a day.  When he woke up the next morning, the pain had reduced by 90%. He took another 4 sachets Vitaking just to be sure.

------------------------------------------

Testimony: Unexplained Back Muscle Pain

Ms LB hurt the muscle on her back one night. It was so painful that she couldn't drive, couldn't walk properly and could only sleep straight. She couldn't sleep until 2 am. Before going to sleep, she took 1 Vitaking + 6 capsules Jia Hor Lingzhi + 5 capsules Yung Kien Pollen. Then she could sleep until 7 am. She didn't go out the whole day. She took 5 capsules Yung Kien Pollen each time, 6 times a day. She felt the difference at the end of the day, even though it was still painful.
On the 2nd day, she continued to take 1 Vitaking in the morning and another 1 Vitaking at night. She could move normally after that. Even her sister was surprised that she recovered so quickly.

-------------------------------------------

Testimony: Toothache

Ms G's cousin, mid-30s, went to see a dentist. He said that she needed to do a root canal. After the procedure, she went home. One day when she was eating, she felt a sharp pain. She took painkiller. It helped but at night the pain returned. Instead of taking painkiller again, she took 3 capsules Jia Hor Lingzhi. After a while, there was no more pain so she did not need to take any painkiller. She was very happy. Over the next 4 days, when the pain returned at night, she would take 3 Jia Hor Lingzhi and the pain would subside. She was very grateful she found an alternative solution to handle her problem instead of taking painkiller.

Testimonies: 4 Stories on Gastric and Shuang Hor Products

Story 1
Mr N’s colleague, a 26-year old lady, has been suffering from gastric attacks regularly for 2 years, up to the point where she has ulcers in her intestines. There was once when the attack was so painful that she couldn’t stand up. He introduced her to Lactoberry probiotics and she took 2 sachets immediately. It was so effective that 5 minutes later, she felt well enough to go out for lunch.

Story 2
Another friend of Mr N has been suffering from gastric for 20 plus years. He is now 40 years old. Mr N didn’t know about this when he was sharing the benefits of Lactoberry with him but he simply gave him 1 sachet to try. About 5 minutes after he took, this friend disclosed that he’s actually suffering from gastric problem and was feeling the pain at that moment. He said that Lactoberry really worked because the pain subsided. He immediately bought a box.

Story 3
Mr N suffered from a gastric attack recently. He took 2 sachets Lactoberry + 1 sachet Jia Hor Soya Protein. The pain subsided within 15 minutes, and he could continue with his dinner.

Story 4
Ms C has been suffering from bad gastric pain since 16 years old. Her condition got worse when she started her cafe, due to erratic hours and stress. She used to take up to 14 pills a day to get rid of the gastric. She consumed about 2-3 boxes Jia Hor Lingzhi a month, for 1.5 years. Her condition improved significantly. She used to feel a lot of gas, burning sensation, nausea and giddiness when the gastric condition attacked. Now, she's able to control her gastric even during the times she skips meals. It's manageable and not as painful as in the past.

Testimony: What Happen After I Stubbed My Toe

Tuesday, 22 July 2014

I stubbed my toe. It had to happen on the day of the Brazil World Cup Finals between Germany and Argentina. Lost my balance and tripped. The pain was immediate. It hurt!!
This is how it looks after a day..

Feels much worse though. I could not put any weight on the foot and was walking with a horrible limp.
What's my remedy?
Every night I apply some toothpaste on it, wrap it carefully with a tissue paper, then keep it warm in my socks. The toothpaste is called Greenzhi Toothgel. It contains Neem Extract and Lingzhi - anti-inflammatory and feels very soothing.

Still not looking good the next day.

I take Vitaking collagen everyday. The lemon verbena in the formulation relieves the swell and inflammation, so that the hydrolyzed collagen can do effective repair work on the damaged cells. Easy to make and very tasty to drink.

Aahhhh... after only a few days, it's looking better..

The soreness is still there, but I am very pleased with the improvement.

If you sprain your joints and are looking for a natural and safe remedy, please email me at askfuiping@gmail.com to buy Greenzhi Toothgel and Vitaking collagen.

Guest Blog: Preventing Cavities While Wearing Braces

Wednesday, 16 October 2013

One thing people worry about when they are advised to have braces is oral hygiene. Brushing your teeth is normally very simple to do, but when you have big pieces of metal on your teeth, this surely becomes more difficult. The good news is that most people learn to brush their teeth with braces very quickly. You will soon get used to wearing your braces and keeping them clean.

Your oral hygiene routine

Good oral hygiene is important for everyone, but if you have braces, you may have to make an extra effort to keep your mouth clean. Braces do not directly cause oral hygiene problems, but they do increase your risk of decay and gum disease because the bands and brackets tend to attract plaque and food debris.

If you have braces, it’s particularly important that you clean your teeth on a regular basis. Often, food can become trapped in the brackets, so it may be a good idea to carry a brush with you and brush after every meal. Always wait at least 45 minutes before you brush. This is important as saliva needs time to break down the starchy sugars in some foods. Brushing straight away can weaken and damage surface tooth enamel. Saliva also helps to keep teeth strong as it contains high levels of fluoride, calcium and phosphate ions.

When you brush, it’s important to follow your dentist’s advice - cover all areas of your mouth and ensure that you brush for at least 2 minutes each time. If you struggle to stick to your dentist’s recommendations and have no concept of how long 2 minutes last, try brushing along to a song, as most songs are around 3 minutes long.

Cleaning your brace

When you have a brace fitted, your orthodontist will explain how to keep it clean and show you how to brush your teeth. You can buy specially designed cleaning products and brushes for use with braces, which are easier to use than traditional brushes.

Your diet will also affect your braces and your oral health and it is likely that your dentist will advise you to avoid certain foods. All patients are advised to steer clear of sugary and acidic foods, which erode the protective tooth enamel. It may be beneficial to avoid chewy foods such as gummy and sticky sweets and very hard foods, such as bon bons, as these may stick to the braces or damage them.

If you have concerns about cleaning your teeth or you are worried about developing gum disease or decay when you have braces fitted, talk to your dentist or orthodontist.

Dental appointments

It’s important for everyone to see their dentists on a regular basis for a routine check-up but if you have braces, you may be advised to see your dentist more frequently. This allows them not only to check on the progress of your treatment, but also to keep an eye on your oral health and treat any problems before they get worse.

Advantages of braces

Being told that you need braces is probably not going to the best moment of your life, but braces are a really effective treatment and you will be glad that you had them in the long-run.  You can use braces to rectify bite problems that affect the function of your teeth and jaws, as well as making your smile look more attractive.

Guest Blog: How to Recover from Poor Dental Health

Wednesday, 9 October 2013

Poor dental health can have a negative impact upon the wellbeing of your entire body. In fact, it is claimed to be a window to your overall health. This is because it has recently been found that the health of your mouth actually has a lot to do with the welfare of your overall health; playing a part in health conditions such as strokes, diabetes and osteoporosis. This makes it even more important that you tackle and recover from poor dental health as soon as possible.

What is poor dental health?

Poor dental health refers to conditions that negatively impact the wellbeing of your mouth and cause problems in your daily life. These include the following:
  • Gum disease
  • Tooth loss
  • Toothache
  • Misaligned teeth
  • Impacted teeth
How can I recover from poor dental health?

Thankfully, there are steps you can take to recover from poor dental health and more often than not these merely include subtle changes to your daily routine. We are going to take a look at 5 different tactics you can employ to improve your dental health.

1. Better your oral hygiene routine

If your oral hygiene routine is not up to scratch then this may be the root cause of your oral health problems. To take care of your teeth, remember to clean your teeth with a toothbrush and toothpaste for 2 minutes each time in the morning and evening; use floss to remove bits of foods stuck between your teeth; and consider using mouthwash. If you’re already doing these things but still having problems, it may be that you aren’t cleaning your teeth properly. If this is the case, do not be afraid to ask your dentist for advice.

2. Improve your diet

Another simple way to recover from poor dental health is to make changes to your diet. This should include cutting down on foods such as sweets and candy, sports drinks and fruit juices, and high-acidity foods, as these are often linked to bacteria build-up in the mouth and erosion of tooth enamel. To further improve your dental health, up your intake of calcium-rich foods such as cheese and yoghurt, raw vegetables and water.

3. Visit your dentist on a regular basis

A dentist will not only be able to identify any dental health problems that you may not have noticed are negatively affecting your health – they can also recommend changes to improve your oral health and carry out any necessary dental treatment to fix issues such as misaligned teeth, missing teeth, impacted teeth or gum disease. Regular visits to the dentist, as well as a dental hygienist where required, are great ways to keep your teeth and gums in good health.

4. Boost up on vitamins

Mineral levels within your body can impact on your recovery from poor dental health. Supplements can help to add nutrients into your body if your diet is lacking in relevant foods. Such supplements include cod liver oil, vitamin D (which we also receive from exposure to sun) and coconut oil which provides building blocks for good dental health. Other supplements that can help your body fight off dental bacteria include magnesium, gelatin and vitamin C.

5. Give up smoking

Smoking not only stains your teeth and makes them appear discoloured, but also inhibits the recovery of gums from poor health and can lead to their deterioration. Other problems caused by smoking include bad breathe, increased risk of gum disease and potentially oral cancer. Smoking really does not have anything going for it, so prioritise your dental and general health over it.

Toothache: What to Do if You Can't Find a Dentist

Thursday, 22 November 2012

My Mum's tooth started to hurt on the eve of Hari Raya. It hurt more the next morning. She went to the dentist for help. The clinic was closed. The pain got progressively worse and in the afternoon, half her face was red and swollen. She looked in bad shape. She couldn't eat and was really suffering from the throbbing ache.

She went to the dentist again the next day. It was still closed. She refused to visit another dentist, as she trusted this chap whom she's been seeing for the last 20 years. I suddenly remembered a remedy which some friends have found to be effective for such cases.

The Recipe is this:

Open a capsule of Yung Kien Ganoderma and mix the powder thoroughly with a 10 cent glob of Greenzhi Toothgel. Then apply it onto the sore tooth. It's anti-inflammatory so it helps reduce the pain. It acts as a protective coating against the environment. The toothgel is food-grade so it's perfectly safe to swallow.

My Mum did that and overnight, her swollen face went back to normal. She claimed there was no more ache. Of course, it was just an interim measure as the tooth was still a problem that needed to be taken care of. The important thing was she wasn't tormented by the continuous pulsating pain. She went to her dentist again. Still closed! I advised her to apply the Lingzhi+Toothgel mix immediately after every meal. It worked - no pain.

Day 4, she visited the dentist again. The clinic was still closed. My goodness, dentists nowadays enjoy a good life. Such a long break, and he's not even a Muslim!

Finally, on Day 5, he was open for business. She got it all sorted out.
The Lingzhi+Toothgel mix is an excellent temporary measure. It's a simple painless solution, and can be used anywhere, anytime. You can apply the same formula for mouth ulcers, inflamed gum etc. And you can use it while traveling or when it's inconvenient to visit a dentist. Please email me at laifuiping@gmail.com to buy.

Another Use for Greenzhi Toothpaste: Healing of Wound on my Big Toe

Saturday, 7 April 2012

What Happened

The occasion was a wonderful birthday party for a group of "April babies". Lots of sumptuous food paired with free-flowing delectable wines. Everyone was mingling and moving around. Then it happened. The full force from the sharp spike of a girlfriend's 4-inch stiletto landed on my big toe. I felt a shooting pain, then nothing. I thought, ok, I'm fine, it's only a little scrape. Until 30 seconds later. Aarrgghhh.. the searing pain...

I limped to my chair. Peered at the damage. OMG! Even in the semi-dimness of the restaurant, I could see it was much worse than I thought. The blood was starting to flow out. Tissues tissues... Ouch oucchh ooucchhh... I spent the remaining of the night with my foot resting on another chair. Despite the incident, it was still a lovely night. Must be the wine..

The Remedy

I thoroughly cleansed off the grime and blood the instant I got home. Then I spread a big dollop of Greenzhi Toothpaste on the wound, bandaged it and went to sleep. I changed the dressing the next morning then went about my daily activities. No more limping. In the evening, another change of dressing.

The Day After

Hey check out my toe! Isn't it fantastic? The wound pretty much healed in less than 2 days. I am so pleased! The Neem Extract in this toothpaste did a superb job of reducing the inflammation caused by the injury, prevent further bleeding and lessen the pain.

Causes of Sensitive Teeth and How To Reduce It

Saturday, 17 March 2012

Have you ever experienced a sudden uncomfortable tingling sensation in your teeth when you're drinking ice-cold water or eating something sour? Ooouucchh.. What happened?

Our teeth are divided into the crown (the part we can see in our mouth) and the root (buried inside our gums). There are 3 segments:

(a) Enamel. It's the outer hard layer and doesn't have nerves. It cannot repair or heal itself.
(b) Dentine. It is covered by the enamel on the crown, and protected by the cementum in the root. It can register pain and can repair itself.
(c) Pulp. It contains the nerves and blood vessels. If in any way it is exposed to decay or injury, it will die and cause severe pain.

Our teeth can become sensitive in the dentine and pulp area. It is triggered by heat, cold, sweetness or sourness. It may be from food, drinks or even breathing in cold air. The pain can be sharp or a dull ache, it can be sudden or come on gradually. It can last for a little while or a long time.

Sensitive teeth occurs when our dentine is exposed. It's not a tooth cavity. It happens because of receding gum tissue. The root which are not covered by the enamel are exposed, resulting in the sensation reaching our teeth's nerves.

Causes of Teeth Sensitivity
  • Brushing your teeth too hard and using a hard-bristled toothbrush, which wear down your enamel and recede your gums.
  • If your tooth decays near the gum line, it exposes your dentine.
  • If your gum moves away from your tooth as a result of disease such as gingivitis (inflammation of your gums). There may be loss of supporting ligaments of the gum, resulting in the root of your tooth being exposed.
  • If you have cracked, broken or chipped teeth which may be filled with plaque. The bacteria will enter the pulp to cause inflammation.
  • If you grind your teeth or clench your jaw very often, it can wear down the enamel.
  • It you use too many tooth-whitening products or mouthwash that contains acids.
  • If you like eating a lot of acid-containing foods like oranges, lemons, tomatoes and pickles.
  • If you like to drink a lot of tea.
  • If you recently had a dental procedure. But sensitivity caused by this usually disappears within 6 weeks.

How to Reduce Teeth Sensitivity
  • Brush your teeth with a soft bristled toothbrush.
  • Floss thoroughly.
  • Use desensitising toothpaste.
  • Don't eat acidic foods or drink ice water.
  • Don't grind your teeth. Use a mouth guard at night if you do it during your sleep.

Remedy For Flu: My Shortest Flu Experience Ever

Thursday, 26 January 2012

My friend cancelled his lunch appointment with me again. Why? Because he's again stuck in bed, sick with "flu, sore throat and a bit of fever". That incident triggered me to post this story about how I kept my flu trouble short because I chose the right remedy for flu.

I have suffered from flu and cold many times over the years.  I would normally recover from my runny nose, fever and sore throat after a couple of weeks. But my cough would linger on and on and on, up to 2 months or more.

I read that long-term consumption of lingzhi (particularly Yung Kien Ganoderma) and pollen is a great remedy for flu as it’s very effective to enhance one's immune system so that one doesn't fall sick so often. And when one is sick, the recovery rate is much faster. Really?

Well. It was put to test during Chinese New Year this year. This is an account of my shortest flu experience that I can ever remember.

Greenzhi Toothpaste
Last Thursday

My throat feels scratchy during the day but gets worse at night. There is pain with each swallow of my saliva. Have difficulty sleeping. I was told swallowing Greenzhi Toothgel can sooth the inflammation and pain caused by the sore throat. Friends who have tried this method report that it's indeed very helpful. I've never knowingly swallowed toothpaste in my life. So I’m a bit apprehensive but rather desperate. After some ponderings – just do it! I went to the bathroom, took a glob of the green stuff and let it glide slo-owly down my throbbing throat. Hhmm.. tastes ok. Feels soothing.

Last Friday

Wonders of wonders, the sore throat is pretty much gone but now my nose is dripping. Yup, all the symptoms of a flu. I feel so tired. Have to force myself to get through both my appointments. There's an incredibly heavy downpour. I get caught in the rain 7 times scrambling in and out of my car running errands. My nose gets worse. I accumulate a huge pile of tissues during my dinner appointment. I increase my consumption of lingzhi and pollen before bed to strengthen my immune system. I put out the lights by 11.30 pm after accumulating another load of tissues. But I was woken up in the middle of the night because I can't breath. Miserable! Can't sleep well.

Last Saturday

I feel even worse today. My nose is like a broken tap - drip drip dripp drippp.. More tissues during my brunch appointment. My head feels so stuffed up that I get slightly disoriented while running my errands in MidValley. Another mountain of tissues while replying my emails. My nose is so itchy I keep sneezing. I have no energy to go to the gym. At night I have an appointment I can't miss. More tissues. I’m the first to call it a night. So worn out and my nose feels so raw. I keep up my remedy for flu – more lingzhi and pollen.

Sunday

Oh no oh no. It's the eve of Chinese New Year, and my nose is still stuffed up. I can make my way to the gym now, but have to blow my nose all through my workout. Amazingly, during the second half of the day, the numbers of tissues are fewer. I manage to get through the delicious family reunion dinner feast without disturbance from the drippy tap. Looks like my remedy for flu is working - it's going to be a great start to the new year after all.

Thean Hou Temple
Monday

Wake up early after a good night's sleep. No harassment from my nose at night. What a wonderful first day of Chinese New Year! Just 2 pieces of tissue to last me through breakfast, Thean Hou temple visit and lunch. No tissues at all the second half of the day, despite the awful scorching weather and 2 "intense" house visits. Just a bit of cough.

Tuesday

Unbelievably, my nose doesn't leak anymore. And my cough doesn't act up. I have recovered!

So there you have it. My shortest flu experience ever. No doctor, no medication, continue to enjoy all my food and drinks as usual (even more so, during this festive period), manage to keep all my appointments and yet my flu doesn’t linger on and on the way it always did. It's astounding. To me, it's a clear indication of my body's stronger ability to combat the flu virus. Which I attribute to my chosen remedy for flu - lingzhi and pollen.

Please email me at laifuiping@gmail.com for more info or if you want to get your supply of lingzhi and pollen.

Dentist and the Big Surprise

Saturday, 10 September 2011

I went to the dentist last Saturday. It's always a distressing experience for me. Even though he's the same guy who's trawled around my teeth over the last 20 years, and I have the utmost respect for his professionalism and service.

The last time I visited him was mid-2010. The only reason I went last week was because I had to, not because I wanted to.

Anyway, it turned out to be the best experience I've ever had (as far as going to dentist is concerned). This honest doctor, who is also my parents' regular go-to guy, had this to say (repeatedly) after poking around my mouth... "I've never seen your gums so healthy. They don't bleed like they used to when I do scaling. I don't see any gingivitis [inflammation of the gum tissues]. The inside of your lips are healthier. The under parts of your tongue is so healthy. Your gums look revitalised. Your gums seem to have reversed in ageing." And so on.

I said, "Could it be the toothpaste I'm using?" He agreed, a good toothpaste is vital to healthy gums.

I was ecstatic. When I stepped out of his room, all the waiting patients took a good look at me - what magic did the dentist do to give her such a big huge smile??

So, my secret to that big happy smile is: quality natural ingredients toothpaste, used consistently over more than 1 year, and you will get super healthy gums.

Want to give this toothpaste a try? Please email me at laifuiping@gmail.com on how to buy. S-M-I-L-E..
