Respiratory System Diseases: Application of SH Products

Sunday, 11 April 2021

We can say that the lungs has the first contact with the external environment. It is the first doorway for pathogens to enter our body because as we breath in, the air goes straight to the lungs.

Common diseases related to respiratory system:

(a) Asthma, where the airways narrow and swell, making breathing difficult, and trigger coughing, wheezing and shortness of breath. Common asthma attack triggers include inhaling smoke, cold air, GERD and stress. It's a type of auto-immune disorder where the Th2 becomes hyperactive.

(b) Pneumonia, which is lung inflammation caused by bacterial or viral infection. The air sacs in the lungs (alveoli) are filled with fluid or pus. X-rays show affected area as white spots (called pulmonary infiltrates).

Pulmonary edema occurs when alveoli fill up with excess fluid (often caused by congestive heart failure).

(c) Bronchitis, which is inflammation of the lining of the bronchial tubes, caused by viral or bacterial infection, or breathing in things that irritate the lungs.

When you experience breathing difficulty, deep breathing exercise help. Especially when you travel to cold countries, you may experience constrictions to your lungs if you are not used to the temperature change. The inhalation of such cold air may cause your WBC activity (immune system) to suddenly drop (as they function optimally at 37'C). Hence if there's germs in the air, you can easily get infected.

A suggestion for pneumonia cases:

(i) Take at least 15 YK1 or 4 YK2, open up the capsules, pour the powder into warm water and sip slowly. Let the Lingzhi powder stick on the oesophagus.
After 2-3 minutes, drink down the residual from the cup.

(ii) Calmly sit down and take deep breaths for 10 mins.

(iii) If still not able to breath well, put 3 Lactoberry into the throat without drinking any water.
After 3-5 mins, drink room temp water.

(iv) Heat therapy - use the hairdryer to blow at the meridian points between nipples and just below the neck for 5-10 mins. It raises your body temp back to 37'C, and your immune system is able to perform again.

Testimony:
Ms J had severe pounding headache when she visited Kunming because the weather was too cold. She put 2-3 YK1 (after removing capsules) under her tongue. Within 5 mins, she vomited and felt relief from her headache.

A suggestion for bronchitis cases:
It's better to take YK2 because many a times, it could be due to autoimmune system disorder. The high content of triterpenoid of YK2 is better (at least 4 YK2), unless you swallow at least 20 YK1, where the triterpenoid level would then be sufficient.

TCM Perspective

The colon and lung meridian points are inter-related. If you experience constipation continuously for 3-5 days and the quality of your stools is poor, this indicates there is a drop in the health of your respiratory system. This is because the meridian points of large intestines and lungs are linked.

Other Symptoms of unhealthy respiratory system:
- phlegm, throat irritation, itchy throat, runny nose
- negative emotion (sadness)
- difficulty perspiring
- rough skin condition
- blisters all over body.

Colon meridian point: outer side of index finger.
Lung meridian point: outer side of thumb.
Meeting point is between between these 2 fingers on the back of the hand and further up on the wrist.
People with weak lungs will feel sharp pain when these points are massaged. There may even be appearance of water blisters.

Solutions

For people with lung problem, allergy and asthma, taking Lactoberry helps as it improves the quality of the bacteria in the intestines, and eventually improves quality of lungs. When the digestive system health improves, your bowel movement is smoother and the quality of your breathing also improves.

Take care of your diet - reduce the consumption of spicy food and take more white colour food to nourish the lungs (white fungus, white lily bulb, barley, almond powder drink). Take pollen in capsule form, rather than granular form.

Take care of your emotions.

Why do some  people wake up with runny nose and sneezing in the morning?

- Aircond is too cold.
- Aircond filter is dirty.
- Bedroom has a lot of allergens and dust.
- Bedsheet has a lot of dust mites.

Quick fix: Slice a big red onion in half and leave it on a plate in the room. However, it's only temporary fix and doesn't address the root cause of the problem. This is because onions can kill bacteria.

Testimony:
Two children suffer from severe asthma. After taking Lingzhi and Pollen, the healing reaction is their cough becomes worse. One coughed out an excess amount of phlegm; the other was sent to hospital to draw out the phlegm. After that, they don't have the attacks anymore. In other words, do not panic, Lingzhi and Pollen are safe, but the consumers need to have faith and patience to go through the episode.

Lung Cancer

Lung cancer is one of the top 10 causes of death. It doesn't happen overnight. It is discovered that 20-30 years prior to being diagnosed with lung cancer, these people had dry cough. They would see the doctor, take cough syrup, the symptoms disappear. When the cough recurs 2-3 months later, they repeated the cycle of seeing doctor. This could continue for 20-30 years. Suddenly they have a severe bout of cough and when they go for checkup, the doctor would pronounce them as stage 4 lung cancer patient.

When particles stick to the wall of the alveoli, the exchange of air can't function properly, and that's why people experience dry cough. Another way of looking at it is that when one experiences dry cough, it's a sign that the immune system is working, and is trying to cough out the toxins from body. But if the lungs is weak, nothing would come out. Cough syrup contains steroids and suppress the activities of immune cells, making it appear that the irritations have gone. However, toxins are actually reabsorbed back into the body. Accumulation of toxins over a period of time increases the severity.

Uniqueness of Lactoberry Probiotics

Sunday, 7 June 2020

There are many probiotics products in the market today. What are the differences between Lactoberry and all these other products?

One of the unique features of Lactoberry probiotics is that the strains of bacteria used are the same as those which are already existing in our body. If you take new strains of probiotics which are not in our body, our body may reject them. In other words, as Lactoberry helps to strengthen and increase the quantity of bacteria that are already present inside our body, you can be rest assured it won't create any resistance or side effects. In fact, the strains in Lactoberry are from Denmark, but they have been "trained" to be localised hence our body won't resist it.

Two Major Hurdles

For a probiotic to work effectively in our body, it has to be able to travel successfully all the way to our intestines. If they die prematurely, whatever is consumed is wasted. There are 2 major hurdles these probiotics have to go through:

(a) Body temperature. When we consume the probiotics, they are exposed to the temperature in our mouth of 37'C. A lot of bacteria cannot survive at this level of temperature.

(b) Stomach acid which is hydrochloric acid with pH 1. It is highly acidic and at this strength, it will destroy a lot of friendly bacteria. People with high amount of stomach acid has strong digestive ability. On the other hand, people with weak stomach acid will find food that pass through their intestines are not digested properly. However, too much or too little is not good.

Products in the market that claim they have multiple billions bacteria don't mean much, because what we want to know is how many successfully reach the intestines to perform their job.

Why is Lactoberry Effective?

How do you create good probiotics that are able to go through these 2 barriers successfully?
What Shuang Hor does is to "dress" them up e.g. firemen who wear protective clothing before going into the fire. The "clothing" used for Lactoberry is called "multi-coating".  The bacteria are still alive but go into hibernation mode upon the coating.

The strains are cultivated and trained to be able to withstand heat of up to 45'C. Most bacteria are killed at the temperature of about 40'C.
The strains are also cultivated to be able to withstand acid in the stomach.

Now you understand why most probiotics are not so effective because not many are able to reach the intestines, putting aside the original quantity.

Why is Probiotics so Important?

There are about 500 types bacteria in our intestines. When the number of good bacteria decreases, the amount of bad bacteria increases.

Many people have decreasing number of friendly bacteria because they consume a lot of medicines including antibiotics, HBP and diabetics drugs etc. Long-term consumers of drugs will destroy their villi.

Diabetic patients also lack good bacteria because their blood is very toxic. They easily get itchiness on their skin and their wounds take a long time to heal. Lactoberry is very effective for diabetics patients. Glucose are located in 2 places in our body - one is in the blood and the other is in the intestines. Probiotics has the ability to breakdown the excess sugar from the intestines. Do not be concerned about the sweet taste of Lactoberry because it has little effect on blood sugar level.

Some symptoms of people who lack friendly bacteria in the body include:

- Food that was enjoyed in the past e.g. spicy food would now trigger diarrhoea.
- More bloatedness and indigestion.
- Difficulty sleeping.
- Easily feel heatiness.
- Risk of cancer is higher.
- Allergy such as itchiness.
- Flatulence and stools are very smelly.
- Dull complexion.
- Bad breath.

How to Consume Lactoberry

The right way of consuming Lactoberry is to pour directly into your mouth followed by drinking room-temperature water. The reason is when the probiotics is poured into your mouth, your body heat warms it up thereby helping to undress a layer of the coating, when it enters the stomach the acid dissolves another layer of coating, so when it reaches the colon it is ready to do the work.

Why is it important to drink water when consuming probiotics?
The water acts as a carrier to bring the probiotics to the intestines. Because of the water, it has the ability to grow from 2 billion to 40 billion in 3 hours. Bacteria multiplies quickly in the presence of water.

It is recommended to consume daily as the good bacteria die and are pushed out of the body everyday. It doesn't matter whether you consume before or after meal.

Recommendations on Effective Ways to Consume Lactoberry

When one has food poisoning,  consume 3 sachets immediately.
Do not dissolve Lactoberry in water before consuming. It is not so effective because some layers of coating are already dissolved before one even swallows them, thereby exposing them to heat and stomach acids.

If you have sore throat, consume 3 sachets of Lactoberry without water at night and go to sleep. Let the probiotics stay and coat around the throat area. You will feel improvement the next day.

Babies delivered under cesarean section have less friendly bacteria because the mother is not able to successfully transfer the good bacteria to them. These babies are more prone to have lactose intolerance and watery stools. Feed them with Lactoberry. Each sachet can be divided into a few times of feeding. If the babies are unable to take the powder directly, dissolve with water and feed them the water. After some time, when they have sufficient friendly bacteria, the symptoms of lactose intolerance will subside.

80% of white blood cells reside in the GI tract. Total length of both large and small intestines is about 30 feet. Unlike a drain in our house of this length which we can clean often, we never really do the same for our intestines. In fact, these friendly bacteria are the cleaners when they help improve our bowel movements.

People with a lot of bad bacteria tend to accumulate a lot of stools in their intestines. Some symptoms include dull complexion, bad breath and bloatedness. The colon works using the peristalsis movement. If there is not sufficient energy supply into the intestines, the muscle movement does not function well and you will have difficulty passing motion.  The stools become more and more compact. If waste accumulates in the colon for over 24 hours, the stools that are passed out are denser and tend to sink. Replenish with probiotics. It is one of the cheapest ways amongst Shuang Hor products to help you increase your immunity. Try taking 3 sachets a day for 1 month - it's a way of spring-cleaning the intestines.

Another benefit is probiotics helps improve the absorption of nutrients by the villi in the small intestines. If you want to eat any nutritious food, you have to first take care of your intestines. Otherwise, your body cannot utilise these nourishing food.

Note: Some people have the healing reaction of acute pain in the intestines area after consuming Lingzhi. This indicates they have some kind of problem in their intestines. This is common amongst very skinny people as their body is unable to absorb the food they eat.

TCM Point of View

Some points you can massage to improve the health of your intestines:

(a) Side of tip of index finger - stimulates colon meridian point. People who suffer from constipation will feel sharp pain when this point is massaged.
Side of tip of thumb - stimulates lung meridian point.

The meridian points of colon and lung are connected. They "join" at the meeting point on the back of hand up between thumb and index finger. People who have constipation will find that the health of their lungs are not good e.g. a lot of phlegm or difficulty breathing. When they consume probiotics to address their colon problems, their lung-related problems will also improve. They will not suffer so frequently from runny nose. Their sense of smell also improve.

(b) Outer side of tip of small finger - stimulate small intestines. People who are very skinny and have difficulty absorbing nutrients will feel sharp pain when this point is massaged.
Inner side of tip of small finger - stimulate heart meridian.

The meridian points of the small intestines and heart are connected up towards the shoulder.  If you have a weak small intestines, you will also have weak heart muscles and have shoulder pain. In other words, people who look gaunt and skinny and have poor absorption ability, it follows that they also tend to have shoulder pain problem.
In fact, the meridian points of the liver and gallbladder also converge at the shoulder. It is common that people with gallbladder stones will also experience pain at the shoulder.

In order to address this problem, take Lactoberry to clean up the intestines.

(d) Side of palm (hou shee shiek) - stimulate small intestines. Massaging this area also helps improve any pain in the shoulder.
People who feel numbness when this point is massaged means their small intestines are weak.

(e) Another way to improve digestive system is to lie on the bed and use warm palm to rub the tummy in a circular motion, clockwise, for 30 times. It stimulates the colon and can improve constipation problem.

Exclusive: Inflammation of the Gastrointestinal System

Sunday, 23 December 2018

The stomach is an important organ of our body. If it doesn't function well, the food we eat cannot be fully digested and absorbed. You may eat a lot but your body would still be starved of nutrients. Many people have the wrong impression that when they eat a lot, it means they have a lot of nutrition. However, what they eat may not be translated to what the body receives.

For people with indigestion and bloating problem, one simple solution is to chew each mouthful of food at least 25 times. This gives opportunity for the saliva in the mouth to break down the starch and start the digestion process.

Here is an easy way to test the health of your colon and intestines:
- Do you frequently have diarrhoea or watery stools?
- Do the food you eat come out half digested in your stools?
If yes, then it means the health of your digestive system is bad.
According to TCM theory, to improve the health of small intestines, massage the side of hand and continue until the pain goes away. To improve the health of large intestines, press the tip of the side of index finger.

In order to protect your stomach, we must first seek to understand what cause gastrointestinal (GI) problems. The stomach's body clock is from 7 am - 9 am. During this period, the stomach works actively. Stomach acid is released and it needs food to digest. If you don't eat during this period, the acid will attack the stomach lining instead. Over long-term, when the lining is eroded, one gets stomach ulcer.

The existing GI problem will be worsened if you take painkillers. This is because the painkillers block the enzymes of the stomach from producing stomach mucosa, thus exposing the lining to stomach acid.
Click on this link for more info and a solution..
http://www.pingofhealth.com/2018/05/bits-bites-205-health-painkillers.html

Causes of GI Problems

(a) Bacterial infections e.g. H. Pylori bacteria.
(b) Genetic.
(c) Stress. In fact, stress is a common culprit to all kinds of major diseases.
(d) Eating habits. For example, parents who tend to skip breakfast would also pass this habit on to their children. Others include regular consumption of spicy/sour food together with cold water, or oily food and meat with cold drinks or taking a lot of fried food.
(e) Drugs like painkillers.

All the above contribute to GI problems, which will eventually develop into mucosa inflammation (cells of the stomach wall starts to inflame). This is the initial stage of stomach ulcer. That's why we highly encourage people suffering from GI problems to drink Jia Hor Soya Protein because it can help to form a layer of mucosa. You can add a little apple cider for taste (which is alkaline in nature).

If the condition becomes even more serious, the inflammation and gastric attacks become ulcers. The pain from the ulcer is not only confined to the stomach area, but also spreads to the back section. It's easily mistaken for heart attack. The ulcer will turn into gastrointestinal cancer if left untreated.

Interpretation from TCM point of view

Exclusive: Lingzhi & Anti-Inflammation - CRP and ESR

Sunday, 4 November 2018

Inflammation in the body can be seen from medical test results. If these 2 readings are high, you will feel quite uncomfortable. However, the readings are not specific - they only indicate there is inflammation in the body, but is not able to identify which part exactly.

1) CRP (C-Reactive Protein)
CRP is a blood test marker for testing if there is acute inflammation in the body. CRP is produced in the liver. Normal CRP level is below 3.0 mg/dL. A high CRP means there is inflammation your arteries. It is the initial response of the body to harmful stimuli. It serves to protect and repair the body against something damaging.

2) ESR (Erythrocyte Sedimentation Rate)
This is a common haematology test to measure chronic inflammation. The normal range is 0-22 mm/hr for men and 0-29 mm/hr for women. Chronic inflammation include those diseases in the "itis" category and conditions caused by over-active immune system.
ESR means the blood flow to a certain area becomes more because when there's inflammation, blood will send platelets, RBC and WBC there.

Some comparison between Chinese and Western treatments

Traditional Chinese medicine may be able to help you but there are 2 disadvantages.

(i) It is very difficult to identify a good supplier because they come from many sources and not all of their efficacy and safety can be independently verified. Depending on preparation, some contain heavy metals or sulphur. However, the advantage of TCM meds is they do not have so much side effects.

(ii) Unlike Western treatment, the nature of TCM treatment is that it does not have the ability to give you an accurate reading of your condition.

On the other hand, Western doctors can tell you exactly what problem you have. However, the consultation charges are expensive. Further, the drugs prescribed can only help with symptomatic treatment and create more problem after long-term consumption.

Some symptoms are easier to be explained from TCM way. By looking at the condition of the face, skin, nails, hair etc, we can quite accurately tell which body organ is damaged.
But other symptoms are clearer to be explained based on medical reports.

---------------------------------

It is common for doctors to advice their patients not to take their medicines together with supplements, because they don't want the patients to blame their drugs for being not effective. Those who are educated and knowledgeable, will know what to do. But for consumers who refuse to learn or seek advice, it is their choice. They can decide not to take.

--------------------------------

An Alternative Solution

Getting a reading of your CRP and ESR can give you information on the level of inflammation in your body. Unfortunately it won't be able to identify exactly which area it is. So how do you address the problem when the figure is high?

Bits & Bites #209 - Health: TCM: Yi Li, Bing Li, Yao Li and the TCM Concept of Dampness

Sunday, 26 August 2018

Please email askfuiping@gmail.com if you want to buy Shuang Hor products for your health.

Ishin
We learn about health so we can serve our consumers better. We are more professional and don't give the wrong impression that we are only there to sell our products. With the sharing of this knowledge, it changes people's perception of us. When we project ourselves as solution providers, people will be more willing to listen to what we have to offer.

Health-related knowledge is broadly divided into 2 categories:

1) Pathology (Yi Li, Bing Li)

Yi Li looks at how our body organs work. Bing Li looks at how we get the diseases and the complications arising therefrom.

(a) Pre-illness (80% of the population)
This looks at the symptoms indicated by various organs of our body eg. conditions of the eyes, lips, nose, forehead, trembling hand etc. From the knowledge gained through studies of TCM's 5 Elements Theory (relationship amongst the 5 body organs on how they help or restrain each other) and 5 Zhang 6 Fu, we can identify which organ in the body is potentially damaged. We learn how to prevent them from further deterioration.

(b) Illness (10% of the population)
This can be diagnosed or explained through the Western way, by looking at the readings from medical checkup results. Thus, by combining both, we acquire a more complete overall picture.

2) Pharmacology (Yao Li)

(a) How Western medication is used to treat diseases. We learn about what medicines are available, how they work and what are the side effects. We go to doctors for disease management - when you are sick, then you see the doctor. If you are healthy, you don't. When people have the knowledge, they will look for alternatives which are safe and yet effective.

(b) How Shuang Hor products can help. We learn how to apply Shuang Hor products to various diseases.

Learning about Pathology and Pharmacology (Yi Li, Bing Li, Yao Li) gives us the knowledge on how to help people in a more complete way.

----------------------------------

The TCM Concept of Dampness

Dampness can be thought of as a condition of high humidity inside the body. Dampness describes a condition of viscosity and stagnation.

Dampness can be seen from the tongue of a person - there are teeth marks around the edge of the tongue. This is because when a person's body is damp, the tongue thickens, causing abrasion between the tongue and teeth. It is not to be confused with ulcer, or accidentally having bitten the tongue. There is also an excess sticky coating of white on the top surface of the tongue.

Dampness is linked to weakness of the Spleen.
Some symptoms include:
  • sticky stools, bowel movement not smooth, constipation, dark colour urine
  • dry mouth, bad breath, bitter taste in mouth
  • phlegm and cough
  • oily hair, hair loss, grey hair
  • obese, easily put on weight
  • sagging eyebags
  • back pain and joint soreness
  • chest oppression
  • dark circles around the eyes
  • snoring
  • fatigue and lack of energy
  • wet vagina
  • wet testicles
  • no interest in sex
  • complexion turns yellowish and dark / dull
  • pimples and oily face
  • white vaginal discharge and itchy vagina
  • rashes.
How to reduce Dampness:
  • do not shower late
  • dry the body properly after shower (especially belly button and feet)
  • use hair dryer to blow-dry the body and sole of feet (stimulate the kidney)
  • do not wear wet clothing e.g. after exercise or caught in the rain
  • do not sit on damp ground
  • do not take cold water.
It is noted that if a person has too much Dampness, taking Lingzhi alone will not give much improvement, because Lingzhi cannot reduce Dampness and Coldness. Such people have to change their living habits at the same time and not solely rely on Lingzhi.

Bits & Bites #208 - Health: TCM: Kidney (and Western Medical Tests) and Liver (and Eye Colour)

Sunday, 5 August 2018

Please email askfuiping@gmail.com if you want to buy Shuang Hor products for your health.

Atelier
Main Functions of Kidney

1. Filter the blood and remove wastes such as BUN and creatinine (refer below).
Dirty blood that goes into the kidney is cleansed by nephrons in the kidney. The fresh blood then goes back into circulation. The dialysis machines perform this function when kidneys of patients no longer have the ability to filter their blood.

2. Control body's fluid balance and regulate balance of electrolytes:

One of the symptoms of deteriorating kidney function is fluid retention, mostly in the lower part of the body. There are 2 kinds of water retention:
(i) In the area below abdomen.
(ii) Abnormal accumulation of fluid in the abdominal cavity (ascites). The most common cause is cirrhosis of the liver.

Minerals in our body carry electric charges. The balance of electrolytes are vital for normal functioning of the human body. Diarrhoea can cause an imbalance in the electrolytes.

(a) Calcium : Phosphorus should be in the ratio of 2 : 1.
If the presence of calcium is too high, it will cause calcification and hardening of arteries, leading to strokes or heart attacks.
If calcium depletes too much, you may get osteoporosis and your blood pressure may shoot up.

(b) Natrium (Sodium) : Potassium ratio
From TCM point of view, when kidney is damaged, one craves for salty food. By the same token, people who like to eat salty food will damage their kidneys eventually. People with high blood pressure like to eat salty food. When the level of potassium is higher, it can eliminate excessive sodium and thus keep the blood pressure down.

(c) pH value is maintained at 7.35 - 7.45.

3. Produce renin enzyme and regulate blood pressure. When you are under stress, renin level increases, and blood pressure increases.

4. Produce erythropoietin (EPO) hormones which stimulate the production of red blood cells by the bone marrow. People with anaemia have low EPO level.

---------------------------------

Causes of Kidney Damage

a) Drugs/medication, including usage of viagra.

b) Cold drinks. Drinking tap water (even though it is filtered) contributes to weakening the kidney (because it is yin in nature and depletes the kidney essence). It is better to drink boiled water. From TCM point of view, depletion of kidney essence can be seen from symptoms such as hair loss, hearing problem, tinnitus, teeth start to loosen and unable to stand for long.

c) Too much sex.

d) Salty food.

e) High blood pressure is one of the most common causes of kidney failure. That's because it can damage the arteries leading into the kidney and the glomeruli within the kidneys. Damage to either results in the kidney being unable to effectively filter waste from the blood. As a result, dangerous levels of fluids and wastes can accumulate, ultimately requiring dialysis or kidney transplant.

f) Infection or inflammation and auto-immune diseases e.g. SLE.

g) Obstruction of urinary tract due to enlarged prostate or kidney stones.

-----------------------------------

Symptoms of Weakening Kidney

Purplish coloured tongue.

Blood pressure reading is high, but the person feels normal. This is not due to hypertension disease. Rather, when the body is cold, the blood vessels constrict, hence blood pressure shoots up. ACE is the enzyme that controls our blood pressure. When you are cold, adrenal glands release ACE, which alerts your body to preserve the warmth by constricting the blood vessels, which increases blood pressure.

Needle-like pain at the sole of the feet.

- Body feels very cold or very hot. Under TCM theory, kidney is the body organ that adjusts the body temperature. When the kidney weakens, the body temperature can fluctuate out of control and you will suddenly feel too hot alternating with too cold.

- Reduced amount of urine despite drinking a lot of water, due to water retention problem - causing swelling of the legs, ankles and feet.

- Unexplained shortness of breath.

- Excessive drowsiness or fatigue.

- Persistent nausea, confusion, pain or pressure in the chest.

- Darker skin tone on the face.

- Limbs are weak - cannot stand for long.

---------------------------------

Western Medical Tests on kidney usually focus on checking:

(i) The kidney's ability to filter urea nitrogen (Blood Urea Nitrogen (BUN) test).

When we eat protein, it will be digested into amino acid, and converted to other usable materials by the liver. A process converts nitrogen from amino acid into ammonia, which is converted by the liver into urea (a chemical waste product). The urea travels from the liver to kidney to be passed out through urine. A healthy kidney can filter the urea and remove it from the blood and pass out through urine.

A BUN test normal range is 7 - 20 mg/dL (2.5 - 7.1 mmol/L). A person has kidney problem if his BUN reading is high. It means his kidney can no longer filter the waste of protein. You would notice that when the doctor finds you have kidney problem, he will stop you from taking too much protein.

But you cannot not take protein as 30% of your body is made up of protein, which is the basic building material to produce blood cells, hormones etc. Consider taking Jia Hor Soya Protein, as it gives no burden to your kidney.

(ii) Creatinine is a waste product from protein in your diet and normal breakdown of muscles in your body. People with kidney disease will have a higher level of creatinine in the blood. If creatinine is not eliminated, you will start to feel muscle aches. Normal range is 0.7 - 1.3 mg/dL (men) and 0.6 - 1.1 mg.dL (women).

(iii) GFR (glomerular filtration rate) test estimates how well the kidney is filtering blood (through glomerulus) to remove wastes and extra water. If the filtration capability is good, your kidney function is considered good. A GFR over 60 mL/min/1.73m2 is adequate. Normal GFR is above 90 and GFR below15 indicates kidney failure.

Consumption of too much drugs can cause GFR reading to fall very fast as the kidney has more burden to remove a lot of wastes such as the binders, fillers and colourings that form the drugs.

(iv) Uric acid test. People with weak kidney should not eat too much high uric acid food such as anchovies, peanuts, beans and internal organs. Normal range is 3.4-7 mg/dL for men and 2.4-6 mg/dL for women.

------------------------------------

Your health from your Eyes:

a) Clear demarkation between the black and white of eye - liver is healthy.

b) Bluish rim around black of eye - arteriosclerosis (hardening of arteries).

c) Lines all along iris - stress.

d) Yellowish layer on top of black of eye - high cholesterol. Feel heat on top of scalp when under the sun. Tend to doze off easily.

e) Blood stains on white of eye - liver heat and cannot sleep well.

f) Yellowish on white of eye - liver not healthy as cannot metabolise bilirubin. Also indication of fatty liver problem (liver is losing its function to eliminate oil).

--------------------------------------

The liver plays a critical role in metabolising uric acid, calcium etc before the kidney can pass them out through urine. If the functions of either the kidney or liver deteriorate and they have problem processing these chemicals, the uric acid will build up inside the body causing gout whereas calcium build-up in the blood will cause stones. Hence it is critical to maintain the detox ability of the liver and kidney.

----------------------------------------

If the liver is damaged, it is easier for Lingzhi to help repair the damage and generate new liver cells. Yung Kien Ganoderma has been accredited with liver protection ability by the Taiwan's Ministry of Health.
However, if the kidney is damaged, it is more difficult to rescue. It is harder for Lingzhi to help regrow new kidney cells.

What Your Tongue Tells You

The tongue is closely linked to the brain and other internal organs via nerve pathways, so when something in the body is wrong, the tongue shows it. In other words, the state of the tongue reflects a person's state of health.

1. Pale pink colour, with a somewhat rough surface and slight coating - normal, healthy tongue.
2. Black colour - leukemia.
3. Strong, constant, yellow discolouration - liver or gallbladder problems.
4. Brown colour - possible digestive tract trouble like gastritis caused by changes in the formation and breakdown of amino acids.
5. Greyish colour - anaemia.
6. Blue colour - lung disease.
7. Smooth tongue (atrophic glossitis) - deficiencies of vitamins and minerals.
8. Burning sensation or inflammation - vitamin deficiency.
9. Raspberry / strawberry colour - scarlet fever.
10. Coating on just one side of the tongue - nerve disorder or middle ear infection.
11. Swollen, brown-tinged tongue - kidney failure.
12. Geographic tongue (uneven patches resembling smooth, red islands) - digestive tract disorder.
13. Oral thrush (fungus infection) - weakened immune system or antibiotics drugs.

-----------------------------------------

According to TCM theory, the Lung meridian is paired with the Large Intestine meridian.
If the person is coughing over a prolonged period, ask about his bowel movement. Does he have constipation problem? How is his stools? His coughing problem may be addressed by taking 4-6 sachets Lactoberry a day to regulate his bowel movement.
If he has dry cough, try taking 4 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma each time, 3 times a day. Remove the capsules, mix the powder with warm water and drink immediately.
Check the tips of his fingers. Are they swollen? If he has long-term dry cough, and his fingertips are swollen, he may have lung cancer.

------------------------------------------

The kidney's function is to filter out wastes, minerals and fluids from the body - through urine. Urination eliminates toxic substances and waste products from the body, which is also the main route in which you lose excess water.
If the kidney is affected by disease or accident, it loses this filtering ability. Harmful substances and water then accumulates in the blood and body, eventually leading to end stage renal disease (both kidneys losing 90% of their function).
Kidney functions are impaired by:
  • SLE (lupus), an autoimmune disease where the body's own immune system destroys the kidneys
  • Diabetes
  • High blood pressure
  • Inflammation that leads to scarring of kidney tissue (glomerulonephritis)
  • Polycystic kidney disease.
Dr Chen has proven that Shuang Hor Lingzhi may return kidney function back to normal.  In a test conducted in the Bio-medical Institute in Taiwan, he found that high dose Lingzhi can protect kidneys from inflammation and damage. Please click on this link for details:

When you suddenly feel pains and aches or something that is not right, immediately swallow 20 capsules Yung Kien Ganoderma. The first thing that comes to your mind is probably - it's expensive.
But when you work out the Math, it only costs RM95, before discount. If you see a doctor, it costs more, especially if you need to go for follow-up visits or you see a specialist. So taking Lingzhi is relatively not expensive.

How do you choose what health products to take?
Make sure it is Safe. It's better to be 100% Natural. It must be easily Absorbed without burden to the body. And of course it must be Effective. It is important to take nutrients. If you are already consuming certain supplements, you can continue if they meet all the criteria.
Otherwise, we have Yung Kien Pollen that meet all these criteria. If you are interested, I can give you more information.
